Project overview

On-camera flash at dusk gives a correctly exposed subject in front of a dark, colour-shifted background — the classic mismatch, and the reason the frame looks like two pictures.

Transformation details

The ambient background was lifted and its green corrected first, so the environment reads as evening rather than as underexposure.
The flash falloff on the subject was softened at its edges so the transition into the background is gradual.
The foreground path and grass were graded to match the corrected background.
Skin was evened and the harsh flash specular reduced.
