Project overview

Dappled sun puts hard bright patches on the skin and leaves the rest in shade. It is the hardest natural light to retouch because the unevenness is real, not a colour cast.

Transformation details

The bright patches were brought down individually and the shaded skin lifted, so the body ends on one exposure without a global change.
The background was darkened away from the subject, which is what turns a busy woodland into a backdrop.
The water and foliage were graded cooler so the warm skin separates.
A standard skin pass with texture kept.
