Project overview

The subject is nearly a silhouette against a saturated blue field. The existing edge light is thin and breaks in places, and the frame lives or dies on that outline.

Transformation details

The edge was rebuilt by extending the existing rim rather than painting a new one, so its direction and colour stay consistent with the capture.
The background was graded to a deeper blue away from the body, which widens the edge without touching it.
Skin in the lit areas was evened, and the shadow side left dark on purpose.
The hair's outline was cleaned where the blue had bled into it.
