Project overview

The capture is bright, saturated pink and lit from the front. The concept is dark, warm and lit from behind by tail lights. Almost nothing in the original tone can be carried over.

Transformation details

The background was taken to near-black first, so every later decision was made against the tone the frame would actually end on.
The car was placed at the pose's own angle and the body was relit with red from the lamp positions, which is what makes the light source in the picture the light source on the subject.
Smoke was built in layers with the closest layer softest, giving the frame depth without a blur filter.
Skin was rebalanced away from the pink cast the original bounce had left in it.
