Project overview

The chair in the capture is the wrong shape and the wrong material for the concept, and it is directly under the subject — so it cannot simply be covered. The pose, though, is exactly right.

Transformation details

The throne was constructed around the existing seated posture so the arms and the back stay where they were photographed.
The cavern was built with its brightest area behind the subject's head, which is what gives the figure separation without a rim light that was never shot.
Two animals were placed at the base at matching scale and given the same cool key.
The grade takes the frame cold while holding a warm point in the skin, so the subject does not disappear into the ice.
