Scorpio Season Cover Artwork
Creative composite
A single studio pose becomes a cover layout with a built creature, a cast shadow and display type set into the composition.

Project overview
A cover has to work as a layout, not only as a picture. The capture is a reclining pose on white with no negative space reserved for type and no anchor at the bottom of the frame.
Transformation details
The figure was repositioned within a larger canvas first, so the type had a real place to live rather than being dropped onto the picture afterwards.
A creature was built beneath at a scale that reads immediately at thumbnail size, and given a hard cast shadow to place both it and the subject on the same floor.
The type was set into the composition — overlapped by the subject where they cross — so it belongs to the image rather than sitting above it.
The grade stays close to neutral, because a cover competing with its own type is a cover nobody can read.
