Project overview

The subject is posed on a stool, leaning forward with both arms out — a riding pose held in a studio. The stool is the only thing wrong with it, and everything else about the frame is already correct for the concept.

Transformation details

  • The bike was placed first, at the exact height that puts the hands where they already are. Nothing about the pose was warped to fit; the vehicle was fitted to the person.

  • A wet street and a neon skyline were built behind, with the reflections on the tarmac driven by the same lights so the ground and the sky agree.

  • Magenta and cyan rim light was added along the arms and the back to tie the subject into the scene, kept off the face so the skin stays natural.

  • The stool was removed and a full contact shadow was drawn under the bike.
