The subject and the backdrop are close in tone, so the figure has no separation. The pose reads as kneeling on a floor, which the concept needs to remove.

Transformation details

The backdrop was deepened and vignetted first, which gave the figure an edge before anything was added.
The peony was built under the pose at the angle the knees already sit at, so the body settles into the flower rather than on top of it.
A stem and a simple support were added below to explain the height.
The pink of the flower was pushed away from the purple of the background so the two colours read as separate rather than as one gradient.
